Mike Bailey

Mike Bailey’s first job in the automotive industry began in 1979, at the age of 13, in a car wash. In 1991, he was invited to instruct classes for a large independant training company based in Toronto,
while running his own business as a technician, while continuously developing his knowledge and skills
on the shop floor. Understanding automtoive systems led to the type of unique, proven and
unpublished practical shop procedures Mike teaches in every class. For almost ten years, he was
the Central/Western Ontario instructor for UAP/NAPA. Mike has personally developed and
implemented many specialized courses, taking projects from concept, through R&D, development and
presentation. Before UAP/NAPA, Mike was a lead Automotive Instructor for the QL3/QL5 programs at
Canadian Forces School for Electrical and Mechanical Engineering (CFSEME), CFB Borden, Ontario. On
occasion, Ontario Colleges have asked Mike to present to their Automotive faculty, and has been
more than happy to deliver. Presenting clinics for MACS (Mobile Air Climate Systems) is one of his
favourite things to do. Vehicles are more than a passion as Mike strives to bring the understanding of
today’s new vehicle technology to the service sector of his industry.

Mike is the driving force behind all technical development, course content, course materials and
presentations, while overseeing or leading all technical training for EMW. He is a licensed 310S and
310T Technician in Ontario, and is certified to deliver HRAI’s Ozone Depletion Certification Program,
as well as the EPA Section 609 Automotive Refrigerant Training Program in the US to promote
clean air and protection of the Earth’s Ozone Layer.
